Pipeline Health
Pipeline Health is a qualitative and quantitative assessment of the strength, reliability, and progression characteristics of a sales team's active deals — going beyond raw pipeline value to evaluate factors such as deal age, stage progression velocity, stakeholder engagement levels, competitive risk, and the ratio of committed versus speculative deals in the forecast. A pipeline that looks large by total value may still be unhealthy if it is dominated by deals that have been stagnant in early stages for months, lack identified economic buyers, or are concentrated in a single industry that is suddenly under budget pressure. Regular pipeline health reviews — conducted by managers in CRM-driven 1:1 meetings — are the primary quality control mechanism that keeps forecast data reliable.
