Payment

In a CRM context, Payment refers to the financial transaction that completes the commercial cycle — a customer transferring funds to a vendor in exchange for products or services delivered. While payment processing itself is handled by financial systems, payment status and history data flowing into the CRM gives customer-facing teams the context they need to manage accounts accurately: sales representatives can see whether a customer is current on payments before approaching a renewal conversation; customer success managers can identify billing disputes that may be creating friction in an otherwise healthy relationship. For subscription businesses, payment failure data in the CRM is an early-warning indicator of account risk that often precedes an explicit cancellation request.
