Identity Provider (IdP)
An Identity Provider (IdP) is a trusted service that stores, authenticates, and manages user identity information — enabling users to prove who they are to multiple connected applications through a single authentication event. Common enterprise IdPs include Okta, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, and Google Workspace. In a CRM context, the IdP integration enables Single Sign-On (SSO): users log in once through the IdP and gain access to the CRM without entering separate credentials. For IT administrators managing large user populations across multiple enterprise applications, IdP integration is essential for centralized access control, automated user provisioning and deprovisioning, and consistent enforcement of security policies such as multi-factor authentication.
