Guest User (Portal)
A Guest User or Portal User is an external stakeholder — such as a channel partner, customer, or contractor — who has limited, role-specific access to a CRM or partner portal through a purpose-built external-facing interface. Guest users can typically perform defined actions — submitting deal registrations, viewing partner resources, logging support requests, or checking order status — without having full CRM access. Portal guest access is critical for scaling partner and customer engagement: it gives external parties self-service access to relevant data and workflows without the security risk of providing full CRM licenses. The design of guest user permission models is an important security and compliance consideration for organizations deploying external-facing portals.
