Forecast Pipeline

Forecast Pipeline refers to the subset of active deals that are included in a revenue forecast for a specific period — filtered by expected close date, minimum deal stage, and sales representative confidence classification. Not every deal in the pipeline belongs in the forecast: early-stage opportunities with close dates far in the future, or deals where the rep has insufficient confidence to classify them as Commit or Best Case, are typically excluded. A well-managed forecast pipeline gives leadership a realistic view of near-term revenue without the distortion of speculative deals. CRM systems generate forecast pipeline views dynamically from deal data, making it possible to refresh forecast calculations as deal status changes in real time.
