Field Permission

Field Permission is a security configuration in CRM that controls which users or roles can view, edit, or create data in a specific field within a record. Field-level security allows organizations to protect sensitive information — such as contract values, customer credit ratings, or discount margins — from being visible to users who don't have a business need to access it, even within the same record they can otherwise view and edit. For enterprise organizations with diverse user populations — from inside sales reps to partner portal users to finance teams — field permission configuration is a critical part of CRM security architecture that must be carefully designed and regularly audited to remain appropriate as roles and responsibilities evolve.
