Contact

A Contact in CRM is an individual person — a buyer, influencer, technical evaluator, or executive sponsor — whose information is stored and linked to an account or opportunity record. Managing contacts effectively is fundamental to B2B relationship selling: enterprise deals often involve five to ten stakeholders with different roles, concerns, and decision-making authority. A CRM allows sales teams to track each contact's title, communication history, engagement level, and relationship to the buying decision, giving reps the context they need to personalize outreach and navigate complex organizational politics. Contact data also feeds marketing segmentation, enabling targeted campaigns based on role, industry, or behavior.
